Season 1 marked the inaugural edition of the Morphine Motorsport Series,
a first-of-its-kind intercollegiate racing competition where over 30 college teams
came together to design, build, and race their own machines.
Hosted on 24th – 26th September at Raftaar
Gokarting Track, Pune, it set new benchmarks in transparency,
technical depth, and event experience — a true revolution in student motorsport.
The opening day tested engineering precision. Teams underwent Technical Inspection, Design Evaluation, and the thrilling Best Design Presentation Debate — a first in India. Three finalist teams debated live on stage in front of the entire paddock and judges, defending their engineering choices in real time. The crowd cheered as innovation met intellect — a spectacle that redefined how design presentations are judged in student motorsport.
The event opened with the National Anthem, followed by a traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony led by Mr. Mazdayar Vatcha and Mr. Varun Lal, symbolizing the ignition of a new motorsport journey. Moments later, all team captains together unveiled the trophy of the Morphine Motorsport Series — a gesture that represented unity, pride, and competition.
Day 2 began with the Captains’ & Drivers’ Briefing led by the
Event Director and Race Director, setting the tone
for a day of pure performance.
Teams faced a sequence of challenges —
Brake Test, Acceleration Run,
Skid-pad, and Autocross Test.
Teams with no DNF (Did Not Finish) across these rounds
advanced to the Time Trials, where each driver had to conquer
a full lap of the circuit — a true test of machine and mindset.
The final day — Race Day — began with an early-morning
Drivers’ Briefing and Track Walk, followed
by a Free Driver Training Session for all teams.
Each driver got 10 minutes of guided track time with professional racer
Manav Singh, the track record holder, sharing insights on
racecraft and strategy.
The paddock came alive as engines roared, spectators cheered, and the
Morphine Motorsport Series concluded with unforgettable
moments of speed, skill, and sportsmanship.
Just as engines roared, rain struck the circuit. Within minutes, wet tires were mounted, and the paddock witnessed the iconic “Race in the Rain” — an unforgettable moment of raw motorsport spirit.
IC Category Qualifying kicked off first with 6 karts per slot running in rain, followed by the EV Final Race, and then the Grand IC Final Race — flagged off by the Event Director after a final scrutiny round and a synchronized engine rev-up that shook the circuit. The track echoed with kart engines, cheering crowds, and the heartbeats of every participant.
Some celebrated victories; others faced heartbreak in corners — but every single team raced with pride.
As the races concluded, the paddock transformed into a festival zone. Bass tested, lights flashed — and the DJ Night began!
Teams danced, screamed, jumped, and celebrated the journey they had just lived. The energy was electric when Mr. Jeet Tapaswi and Mr. Faisal Shaikh joined the stage, sharing their experiences and motivating the crowd with stories of passion, consistency, and hustle.
The Award Ceremony honored brilliance across every front — engineering, teamwork, innovation, and racing spirit.
All winners took the podium in style, surrounded by cheers and confetti.
Season 1 was celebrated as India’s most transparent and fair student motorsport event.
